I hope everyone  has a good summer, unfortunately, summer is almost over! There are many changes taking place in regards to jobs being abolished and reposted. Im not sure how things will end up, or if the changes will help or hurt the office. I can only hope the changes will benefit our office especially after all of these changes. 
On a good note.... have you heard about the cost of living allowance (COLA) that we are getting in September? This is the biggest COLA we have ever received. What it means to us is .71 cents on the hour or $56.80 per pay period. Every little bit helps. Thanks to our union we still get the COLA's, another reason to be a member of the APWU.
Stan Morgan, your VP and the director of union services for the State apwu, is at the National convention this week in Vegas, so hopefully he will bring back new information and some good news for us all.

I would like for everyone to send us an email, so we can get you on our mailing list, and send out more frequent info. In the e-mail if you would update your mailing address and phone number, so we can update our records as well. I am planing on in the near future to send an email to our members who have given us their e-mail a copy of the minutes of the monthly union meetings. I understand many of you can not make it to the meeting for what ever reason, but I know you would still like to know what is going on in your local.
